Very flexible working hours - important is, that you do your job in time (when and where doesn't matter). Marketing includes customer events and many "ASAP" requests, so I had to work (some) weekends and long hours during the week. But the company compensates with free days or other incentives. I was assisting the Product Manager and the Business Development Manager for HP Netserver, and supported them with basically everything they needed: contact customers, update the Internet and Intranet, check brochures, technical information, other sales information and press releases, contact and brief agencies, update price information, organize events and support sales force. Every new task was a great challenge. But with initiative and the help of my team it was never a problem to fulfill every single one. The tactic is simple - your boss or the team fires interesting tasks and problems at you, and if you proof you are willing to learn and work hard you'll be a fully accepted team member and have a lot of responsibilities. You'll be able to work independent or within the team. Every single intern at HP plays an important part within the big family. It's very rare you're introduced as a student and so customers take you serious as well!
