Female networks: How "Women@E.ON" strengthens gender equality in the transformation process
Combined female power at E.ON
E.ON is undergoing an unprecedented transformation with the
Innogy acquisition. In the process, the new culture is a key identification
feature. In the coming months, E.ON Inhouse Consulting will also be working
more intensively on how to integrate the company's values into its strategy and
everyday work in order to manifest itself as a cultural change maker. A key
aspect of the E.ON DNA is the topic of diversity and gender equality. This is
already very much promoted in many areas of the company, with
"Women@E.ON", which was formed from the previous E.ON women's
networks, making a particular contribution to this, along with other
initiatives.
The interdisciplinary alliance is a successful product of
the integration of E.ON and Innogy, whose women's networks are now bundled to
strengthen the professional and personal networking and development of female
employees in the Group. Around 400 female colleagues from 11 countries are
driving forward future issues here and encouraging women to help shape the new
E.ON. Female networks have been in place at E.ON and Innogy since 2007 and
since then have provided a forum for professional and personal exchange as well
as knowledge transfer, sharing of experience, mutual support on professional
and career issues, and also the promotion of a culture of cooperation. The
proportion of women in the originally male-dominated area of consulting at E.ON
Inhouse Consulting (ECON) is now as high as 30 percent. However, the network is
less concerned with highlighting a quota than with general networking and joint
exchange, which also leads to professional development. The motivated members
of the network make this possible in their regular meetings and by organizing
numerous networking events, such as the Virtual Networking Day last October.
The network was also recently awarded the internal CEO Award for Diversity and
Inclusion 2020 in the Outstanding Employee Network category.
Women@E.ON recognized early on that diverse teams think
outside the box and are the driving force behind major changes. In addition to
the internal commitment within the network, ECON also wants to contribute to
more diversity and female empowerment in consulting. Thus, the recruiting
flagship event "ECON Women's Day" is conducted annually, taking into
account Among other things, we focus the event around mindfulness and
professional coaching for future female leaders. Especially in these times, it
is important to show that ECON continues to hire and maintain offers for
candidates. Applications are accepted throughout the year. For more
